Integrating Domain and Hosting

Which came first? hosting or a domain name first? It is easier to buy domain first. Here also can be applied to the free domain, range and uni.cc. co.cc. If you already have a domain, then we headed to the hosting company. Time to buy hosting, you would be asked the following three

1. Will you buy their domain too?
2. Do you use own domain name (i.e. domain that had been purchased earlier)
3. Do you transfer the domain? When buying this domain name, your domain registrar is a company B, if you will transfer the domain; it will be the company registrar A.

Which one to choose? In this case, we select a number two. Continue hosting registration to completion. After paying for hosting, it usually immediately activated. So, of course, still less, this is the most crucial part. Read the rest of this entry »

Characteristics of a Decent Blog Domain Name

Below are six characteristics of a decent blog domain name you choose.

1. Short

The shorter your blog domain name is the better. Generally, it is no more than three words. When compared with the medal at a championship, a domain with a single word is the gold medal, two-word domain name is the silver medal, and three-word domain name is the bronze medal. In addition, some of the world’s top bloggers also confirmed that the shorter the domain name, the more expensive price. If it can be likened to, domain names worth millions of dollars in short-Quotes.com.

2. Easily Remembered and spelled

Most internet users do not do bookmarks. They only remember domain name. Therefore, when they were about to visit a favorite blog, which they do is type in the blog domain name in the browser. If the length of the relevant blog domain name is not easy to remember and spell, then the blog will be difficult to communicate.

3. Have .com extension

As we know, there are some names domain extensions. Institution or organization fits with the extension. Org. Companies that target specific market will register a local domain name (. Co.uk,. Id,. Cn, etc.). Outside the interests of the organization or company, the domain .Com is the best because it is the most widely used and seems more professional.

Domain Name; the Knowledge Base

Domain name is a naming system of Internet addresses that are “humane”. Why is it called humane? It was all because that the actual Internet address protocol (IP) was originally form of the numbers that are difficult to memorize, for example like this: 212.53.64.62. The existence of the domain name has made the Internet address naming protocol is simple and easy to remember, for example www.wikipedia.com or www.thesaurus.com. Domain name may be regarded as a “virtual individual home address on the internet”.

How does the structure of the domain name?

Domain name consists of a hierarchical structure, where the highest level is called the Top-Level Domains (TLD). Currently, there are more than 200 TLD are registered throughout the world. This amount will continue to grow as times goes by. But among all TLD, there are three of the most popular, namely .com, .net, .org. Each TLD should be officially registered in an institution that has authority to issue domain name, such as ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers). Each country in the whole globe has different TLD. For example, TLD for United States is .us, England: .uk, and so forth. As for .com, .net and .org are internationally accepted, so it can be used by anyone in the world. The second level is the level domains (SLD). An example for SLD is yahoo.com, google.com and so forth. The next level is the third level domain, fourth, fifth, and so on in where www is the third level domain. The third level domain and so on made by the SLD owners, not by ICANN. Read the rest of this entry »

A Hosting Place and Domain Age

In searching for a hosting server, besides the price and the good support, there are a few things to note in connection with the optimization of search engines.

a. good up time

a good web hosting, very rarely down. If the server is often down, so when Google is indexing, it will fail. If Google continuously failed to index your site, then all your site content that has been in the database will be disabled until Google indexing your site again. Therefore, look for the server hosting with the up time approaching 100%.

b. big capacity of international bandwidth

If the capacity of your international bandwidth site is small, then Google would be difficult to enter and index your site, consequently difficult to find your site via search engines. Therefore, look for a server hosting a large international bandwidth.

Concerning to the domain, Google will rate how serious you use your domain. Domains that have been paid in the next few years will be assessed more than domains that will expire a few months away.

So is with the age of the domain. Domains that have been aged longer and its contents are always consistent will be considered more than just the active domain. Therefore do not like to change the domain names, besides it is inconvenience for you, it will also be considered low by Google.

Effect of Your Website Domain Age to the Page Ranking

As we all may fully aware, our page rank is influenced by one factor that is backlinks. The more backlinks or links from other sites to your site the better effect will be for your site. But keep in mind the quality of those backlinks.

Always remember the rule of quality over quantity!

This means that you better have one backlink with quality rather than 10 backlinks which is not qualified. Quality backlinks is determined by many factors such as domain quality (spam), page rank domains, a niche which has similar topic with our site, and the age of the domain.

In this case there are patents that mention domain ranking is based on the maturity of a domain or website. This means that the older the age of your domain, the more quality backlinks you provided to other sites.

Maturity of a domain determines the trust search engines to the site with the following reasons:

1. Domain price is cheap so that making it possible to buy many domains for the links to each domain that is owned. Especially at this time many free domain and free domain trial.

2. Spammer could use about one to sell backlinks or often referred to by name of link farm.

3. There is a standard; the longer a domain exists on the internet then the most likely it has a lot of interesting content and backlinks to that domain. In this case the link from the new domain does not give a significant effect on your domain.

Although the domain age is not a sole factor to your success in the SERP (search results page), but considering the things that affect the success factors that will help your efforts to achieve success in search engines. Good luck!

“www” Prefix Meaning And Its Effect To The Blog Name Domain

Many blog or website address begins with the prefix www. This is better because it is common practice for naming the server and the old according to the internet hosting service. The host name for the web server begins with the www, while for the ftp server started with FTP, and server news (USENET) to use or NNTP news. This host name which will then be seen as a sub domain.

Choose a Domain Name With or Without www Prefix

Use of such sub domain name is actually not required by the rules and certain standards, even the many sites and blogs that do not use this prefix, or even use another prefix like www2 etc. Most web servers automatically assign both domains (eg noviceblogger.info and www.noviceblogger.info) leads to the same blog, some of them we need to do manually, and there is also a domain of each lead to two different blogs.

Google itself by default assume both domains are different unless we tell Google that both of these domains are the same blog, and domains where the more we like to show in Google search results. This is what apparently led to a Page Rank 2 of this different blog domain name.

Here are the steps to do to register both the domain name in Google webmaster:

1. Log in to Google webmaster.
2. Register both blog name domains (e.g. noviceblogger.info and www.noviceblogger.info)
3. If one of our domain name has been verified, the verification of the second domain name easier. Just click verify and do not need to add Meta or new pages.
4. Click on one domain name to enter the domain dashboard.
5. Click on the Configuration Site Setting.
6. In preferred part, choose one:

  • Do not set a preferred domain name – If we want both the domain name lead on two different blogs or sites
  • Display URLs as www.noviceblogger.info – If we want both the domain name leads to a similar blog and displayed by the WWW prefix in the search results.
  • Display URLs as www.noviceblogger.info – if we want both the domain name leads to a similar blog and displayed without the WWW prefix in the search results.

Additional TIPS:

1. to check whether the domain name is already leading to our blog, try to type in each of our blog URL address without the www and the www prefix. When one of them is error or not found, redirect the domain name service provider error in the domain or on our wordpress account.

2. check Page Rank of the domain name is whether the same or not. This can only be seen when one already has a PR domain.

Understanding Domains, Web Hosting, and How to Own It

What is a domain?

These questions include the most common questions for our friends who want to create a website, or interested in studying the website. Domains mean our web address.
For example, I have domains jane.com, which means my web address is jane.com. In short: domain is the web address. Yahoo.com domain is yahoo.com, google.com domain google.com.

How to have a domain

Domains can we have for free, or with a purchase. For a free, you can look it up on Google search by keyword domain free. One of the best free domain name that I recommend are the domain with the extension. Co.cc. Simply clicks www.co.cc, and makes your entry on the website. After registering, please go to the menu add a new domain and create your domain.

As for a domain that is not free, like; .com, .org, .biz, and so forth, you can buy through a reseller that has been very much nowadays.

What is Web Hosting?

Web hosting is kind of space or room on the internet where we store the data of our sites so that our website can be accessed on the internet. To make it easier, let’s just say it is a web hosting or a flash drive or other storage media. But the location is not our computer instead of on the web host provider company.

How to have Web Hosting

As a domain, web hosting also provides free and paid package. What is the difference? The free package tends to have many limitations both in terms of quality and power. For example, if in a paid web hosting we can control our accounts at will, while in a free web hosting our power is very, very limited.

To build a website is to connect the domain name with the web hosting server, then save / upload the data to storage our website hosting. That way, every time someone typed in the domain name of your browser, then your website will appear on the screen. In other words, your website is ready to be enjoyed by Internet users.
